Yoga for Athletes As a runner and cyclist myself I know how hard it is to add anything to our already busy schedules. I also know athletes tend to have tight muscles more prone to acute and overuse injuries. By loosening those tight areas through yoga, you will not only avoid injury but also strengthen the whole body. Regular yoga practice trains muscles and tendons to stabilize your joints therefore preventing injury. This class will show you how to improve flexibility, strength and balance, prevent injury and incorporate breathing techniques to improve mental focus and endurance. This is a great opportunity to observe your body's reaction to your sport training. By paying close attention, you may be able to spot and correct an injury before it happens. No experience is needed!
Partner (Couples) Yoga- Partner flow will create a fun sequence of mutually beneficial asana and stretches. Rooted in honesty, communication, and acceptance the partner experience will provide a practice centered in trust and compassion.
Kids Yoga- An individualistic and non-competitive exercise, yoga for kids, unlike
many other games and sports, allows all individuals the
opportunity to participate. Participation can have a variety of benefits for
children including: • Builds self-esteem and confidence • Increases physical flexibility and stability (beneficial for all sports) • Raises awareness about the importance of good health
and posture • Teaches healthy self-regulation • Awakens creativity • Encourages more sensitive listening and tolerance • Develops effective techniques for managing
stress (such as breathing) • Helps children channel their energy in a healthy way
